Making, learning and doing were the themes of my upbringing. I am happiest when busy and jewellery is a wonderful way to combine expression with the satisfaction of creating something enduring. I completed a degree in goldsmithing at Georgian College but I learned craftsmanship from the industrious people in my family, especially my dad who can build anything from a house to a Model T. Whimsy comes from my mother who took me on "archaeolgical" digs through the century-old rubbish pile on her parent's farm in Arthur. My grandparents taught me to paint, sew, bake, feed cattle and anything else that took my fancy.
I love ancient things dug from the earth. I hope others will think of my pieces as unearthed treasures, rare and precious artifacts. I make them but they have their own history. |

I want to welcome Melissa Gobeil to Macadi Jewellery. Melissa just finished her goldsmithing training at George Brown College and joined Macadi this May.
